OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Go Ducks!

Thanks to legend-ness of Brenna's Dad and her uncle, we go to go to an Oregon Ducks football game. And it was crazy-nuts-cool. Football is a serious business here. The Oregon Ducks are a college football team, but I think even the AFL grand final would only barely exceed the noise and enthusiasm of the crowd at this game. And this wasn't even an 'important' game!!

There were cheerleaders and a band and wildly yelling fans. Everywhere was a sea of green and yellow, so we felt right at home. :-) And it was LOUD. Loud, loud, loudy, loud. The Ducks fan extend their arms and make an 'O' shape with their thumbs and forefingers, and shout 'OOOOOOOOOOO' whenever the opposition is trying to make a play (or whatever it is they are doing) so they can't hear. Brenna's brother Ryan explained the basic premise of American football to me, so I have a much better idea and can basically follow the game now, but it's very technical. Don't know that I'll have it mastered by the time we come home. Anyway, we contributed to noise and carry-on in true Garrard style.

This was Eva's debut football game, and for the most part, she was loving it.

For half of the game we sat right up in the stands, but for the other half we were able to sit right in the front row on the 50 yard line. There are SO many people in each team - separate defense and offense teams, plus all the coaches and assistants.

It was such a fun day out. And now we are fully kitted out with our Ducks supporters gear.
