O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder, consider all the works Thy hands have made.
I just cried. I didn’t expect to be quite so overwhelmed with the Grand Canyon, but truly I was awestruck.
Yep.
The Grand Canyon is over 400kms long, and about 30 kms wide in some spots, and it’s almost 2km deep in places. There is so much to see and explore there, that we could only scratch the surface. We visited the south rim from the Grand Canyon Village to the Desert View Watchtower.
Love these people.
Quite a spectacular backdrop for the daily exercise regime.

The size of the canyon, the depth of it is impossible to capture on camera. I’d always heard this, but I was secretly hoping I’d still achieve it somehow. I can’t. They were right, and I am suitably humbled. 🙂
Cos they could, really. They had plenty of energy. Brenna and I actually found ourselves a little dizzy. I spoke to one of the locals about it at the village, and they confirmed that it was probably the altitude. We were up at about 7000 ft elevation. The air’s a little thinner up there.
We ended our visit with an icecream and a visit to the Watchtower, which was built in 1932 and has the dubious distinction of overlooking the mid-air collision crash site of 1956, at nearby Temple Butte.
